In Microsoft Outlook, how do I change the default address book?

In Microsoft Outlook, how do I change the default address book?

To change the default address book in Outlook for Windows, follow the appropriate steps below:
Note: UITS recommends that you use the Outlook address book (which is created automatically from information in your Contacts folder) instead of a Personal Address Book. The contacts will be located on the server and accessible from any Outlook client as well as Outlook Web App, whereas a Personal Address Book is only available from the hard drive of the computer on which you create it.

Outlook 2010

  1. From the Find group on the Home tab, select Address Book.
  2. In the Address Book window that appears, from the Tools menu, select Options... .
  3. Under "When opening the address book, show this address list first:", use the scroll-down menu to select the appropriate listing (i.e.,Global Address Book, or Outlook Address Book).
  4. To save the changes, click OK.
  5. To close the Address Book, click the X in the top right corner.

Outlook 2007 and 2003

  1. From the Tools menu, select Address Book... .
  2. In the Address Book window that appears, from the Tools menu, select Options... .
  3. Under "Show this address list first:", use the scroll-down menu to select the appropriate listing (i.e., Personal Address BookGlobal Address Book, or Outlook Address Book).
  4. To save the changes, click Apply.
  5. To exit, click OK.

Screen flickering in Power point 2010 presentations

Screen flickering in Power point 2010 presentations

Recently, we have received many complaints regarding screen flickering in Power point presentations. This is due to handshake problem between the laptop Video Hardware Drivers and Windows OS display drivers.

Display Hardware acceleration feature can improve the performance of Animations and videos in a Power point presentation. However we have done many testing to keep this feature intact, including driver upgradation and other procedure requested by vendors, but still we have seen screen flickering happens in some PowerPoint presentations. We are also checking with Microsoft on this issue.

Till we get a resolution, and also to avoid any sorry situation in front of customers during presentation, Please follow this steps to disable the Display hardware acceleration in PowerPoint.

Open Power point-àgo to Options-àSelect Advanced-àin the Display section--- Select to disable “hardware graphics acceleration” as showed below

Outlook crash when printing

Outlook crash when printing

Whenever I try to print something from Outlook, it either hangs or crashes. I can print just fine from other applications,
I updated the printer driver and when trying to print to another printer I get the same results.

Outlook keeps its printing style settings in a file called OutlPrnt. You can run into several issues like these hangs and crashes when the file gets corrupted and also seen messages been printed in right-to-left format instead of left-to-right due to OutlPrnt corruptions.

You can recover from this by renaming the OutlPrnt file to .old when Outlook is closed. You can find the file here;

Windows Vista and Windows 7

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Note : The OutlPrnt-file is located in a hidden folder

Password not remembered in Outlook 2007 on Windows 7

Each time I start up Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 I get a password prompt. How can I make Outlook to remember my password?
Browse to;

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect

Make a backup of this folder while all other programs are closed and then delete that folder. See if your passwords are remembered now. You might need to enter them a single time when you start Outlook for the first time after this.
